Goals: Kliff Kingsbury Bought A One-Way Ticket To Thailand And Told All Interested Teams That He Has No Interest

Oh baby that is the dream. Get hired for a job you don't really deserve, crash and burn on the way out, and take your millions to a remote island way off the grid with no plans on returning. I have 2 out of the 3 requirements, but I don't have those millions so I guess y'all are stuck with me for a while.

Kingsbury reportedly signed a 5 year contract that paid him $5.5 million a year, all fully guaranteed. That comes out to $27.5 million for those like me who are awesome at math (used a calculator). That seems like enough money to go drink mai tais in the sun with your smokeshow girlfriend for a while. See the world, swim with the dolphins, do some weird drugs, and when you're ready to work again take an offensive coordinator position with the Texans for $2.5 million a year. It's a pretty sweet life if you ask me.

I don't know why more coaches don't take this route. Coaching burns you the fuck out. Especially when you have to deal with Kyler Murray's nonsense. Nobody says when you have $20 million in the bank you need to start looking for your next coaching job immediately. I never understand these coaches who bounce around the league for 30 years- 5 years here, 5 years there. Seems exhausting. Go live a little, bro. I'm happy for Kliff. He failed upwards and now gets to enjoy the fruits of his labor. I hope to one day do the same. Namaste.
