BREAKING: Vince McMahon Returned To WWE To Sell The Entire Company To The Saudi Government For Billions

This is legitimately insane. On January 5th Vince McMahon returned from his leave of absence…no…his RETIREMENT and rejoined the WWE Board of Directors. Since he has 80% of the WWE voting rights he said he wouldn't approve anything (i.e. the company stops making money) if it wasn't approved. And voila, he was back.

Then earlier today, Stephanie McMahon abruptly resigned from her Co-CEO position.

Which led to tonight, where it is widely reported that Vince is selling the entire damn company to the Saudis. The whole damn thing. Gone.

It's one of the worst possible scenarios for wrestling. First of all, Vince is senile. I'm not saying that to be mean, he legitimately is not all there in the head and everyone knows it. While he was in charge of WWE creative for the last 10 years, nothing has made sense. He tried his best to kill the only thing that worked, the Daniel Bryan storyline. He tried his absolute hardest to kill that because if something isn't his idea, he hates it. If someone gets over with the crowd but he didn't write it, he hates it. He killed the momentum of so many wrestlers over the last decade simply because he is a stubborn, arrogant asshole who would rather make a 10 cents than a billion dollars if it means he has to do it someone else's way.

I, and everyone else, always thought he would leave the company in the more than capable hands of Stephanie and HHH. It's been obvious for as long as I can remember that Steph would take over when Vince stepped down. And then HHH built NXT and showed he has one of the best wrestling minds and would be able to take over WWE and keep it on top.

But Vince had other ideas. The CTE took over, or whatever it may be. And he is now selling the business to the Saudis. I've never seen anything like it. He'll make 8 billion or whatever it may be. And the company, the wrestling industry, everything will never be the same. I have not a clue what happens next. Is WWE the next Blockbuster? Will we look back in 5 years and be like "holy shit, I cannot believe that happened"?

And what does Vince really gain from selling the family business? He has already lived a long, long life and made his billions. What good does this do? I guess we will get answers as time goes by, but right now this seems absolutely nuts. Legitimately crazy.

Man. What a weird, weird, weird situation. All I know is AEW couldn't have happened at a better time.
