One of the biggest plot twists in NFL history during my lifetime has been the complete and utter reversal of how everyone perceives Russell Wilson. For years we were all convinced that the Seahawks were holding Russ back from cooking. Turns out, they were covering up the fact that this guy reads defenses at a college level.
I love that this Nickelodeon simulcast, featuring SpongeBob's faithful sidekick Patrick Star, can even recognize and talk shit about how non-DangeRuss the flailing Denver Broncos quarterback is. The first forced interception that Russ had before this was bad enough, but my lord, talk about deciding where you're going to throw the ball regardless of what the post-snap picture looks like. Fucking amateur hour for a $245 million QB.
Had to resort to NFL Brasil's Twitter to find the extended clip of Tony Romo blasting Wilson for what he calls a "predetermined look-off". If there's a more insulting dig at a fellow quarterback, I don't know what it is. Romo's breakdown of how Wilson's ex-Seahawks teammate Bobby Wagner keyed in on exactly what he was going to do was spot-on.
You start to wonder if Russ even studies film, or if he's just so sunk and demoralized by how awfully the 2022 season has played out that he doesn't care any longer. I'm sure Nathaniel Hackett isn't helping the cause, but if this is the true "partnership" Wilson has touted from Day 1 since taking his Mr. Unlimited talents to the Mile High City, then they both deserve blame for their incompetence.
What an absolute lump of coal Broncos fans received this season and on this fine Christmas Day. They probably thought they struck gold when they traded their entire future for Wilson. Instead, they've seen their defense ball out and Russ fail to put up 20 points way more often than not. WOOF.
It's alright, Broncos. You're probably gonna lose to Baker Mayfield who just joined the Rams like a matter of weeks ago but it's OK. At least you have a high draft pick to look forward t---------- oh wait.
