Is the 2022 NFC South the Worst Division in NFL History?

Does anybody want to win the 2022 NFC South?!?!?!?

The four teams are a combined 21-35! The Saints were the only team to win on Sunday and it was because they beat another NFC South team in Atlanta. It is a pillow fight to the death.

Despite getting demolished 34-0 in the 2nd half by the Bengals, the Bucs still have the inside track with a one game lead. Tom Brady looks every bit of 45 and their offensive line cannot block anyone. But in this division none of that seems to matter.

Tampa also has the tiebreaker on New Orleans with a sweep.

Carolina has the best shot to unseat Tampa as they won their first matchup in Charlotte. They play in Tampa in Week 17. With a win, the Panthers will have the all important tiebreaker.

Keep in mind, this is a Panthers team that started out the year with Baker Mayfield at QB and Matt Rhule as head coach. Both are LONG gone at this point. Cannot say I remember a team that started 3 QBs and had 2 head coaches having a shot to win an NFL Division in a minute. Sam Darnold and Steve Wilkes to the rescue!

The Falcons are toast after losing in New Orleans 21-18 yesterday. Arthur Smith benched Marcus Mariota to give rookie QB  Desmond Ridder a shot the rest of the way.

As for the Saints, they look done too at 5-9. I am still disgusted about the epic collapse in Tampa two weeks ago! They would be tied for 1st somehow if they had won.....

There is only one division I can recall that might have been worse than the 2022 NFC South.

Ladies and gentelmen..... I present to you the 2014 NFC South.

Carolina 7-8-1

New Orleans 7-9

Atlanta 6-10

Tampa Bay 2-14

Carolina won with a lousy 7-8-1 record despite not winning one game from Oct 6th to Dec 6th. The Saints had one of the worst defenses in NFL history. The Falcons were not any good and Tampa was the worst team in the NFL at 2-14.

At least all of the teams have won at least 5 games in 2022! The teams finished a combined 22-41-1 which is somehow worse.

The NFC South, the division that will live in infamy forever.
