Joe Lunardi Has Been In A WAR With Tennessee Fans Over The Last 24 Hours Because Of The Committee Giving Them A 3 Seed

So it all started with a take by Matt Norlander, a dude I like. He called Tennessee's 3 seed the worst in quite some time. I disagree with that. It happens every year and we do get caught in a bit of recency bias. The fact is conference tournament's just don't matter. They basically say it here with a committee member

Again, it happens every year. I remember back in 2016 when Kentucky beat Texas A&M in the SEC title game yet A&M was the 3 and Kentucky was the 4. The game just didn't matter. Anyways, Tennessee fans have been freaking out because they are a 3 seed. Losing their mind on Twitter at anyone and everyone, so naturally Lunardi had to chime in.

So here's the thing. Are we sure Tennessee wants to be anywhere different? If they were going to be a 2 seed, I wouldn't want Kentucky's 2nd round draw or Nova's draw. Also remember Nova beat Tennessee, that gets forgotten about. The truth is seeds don't matter, matchups do. So if you're Tennessee would you rather play Colorado State/Michigan in the 2nd round and Nova (if seeds hold) in the Sweet 16 or catch Texas Tech (switch with Duke), Purdue (switch with Kentucky). The only argument really is getting the Auburn draw. The Auburn draw looks like mayhem so, sure.

It just comes down to the fact that the conference tournament games rarely matter. The committee doesn't care about recency shit - they even dropped looking at just the last 10 games. Also remember Joe Lunardi doesn't do shit with the committee. I love the outrage when it comes to him, but he doesn't do shit. He just guesses. He made bracketology famous. That's about it. He doesn't influence the bracket. He doesn't do anything besides pop up and piss off fans.

Nothing better this time of the year than people losing their shit over the same thing over and over and over again. Let's get to Thursday so I can bitch about the draw and the refs.
