The 22-year-old German was set to compete for her first Olympic medal in the women’s 4×400 mixed relay on Saturday night, but she didn’t see any action because the German mixed team was disqualified for making contact with the Jamaican team.
Schmidt could still be selected by Germany for the women’s 4x400m relay on Friday.
How hard is it to stay in your lane for 400 meters? I searched everywhere for the video and couldn't find it so I don't know who to blame, but I assume it was a dumb mistake. In case you need a refresher, this is Alica Schmidt. She was once dubbed the world's sexiest athlete and for some unknown reason can't figure out why she was given that title.
As well as earning her plenty of social media followers, the Blonde bombshell's good looks led to her being named the "Sexiest Athlete in the World" by Australian magazine 'Busted Coverage'.
"I do not know why I got this title," a bewildered Schmidt said about her surprise moniker. "Sport comes clearly first," she added.
"There are thousands of girls on Instagram who look good and still do not have as many fans makes you interesting, and that's just competitive sport for me."
