No surprise here but Illinois locks up the Midwest #1 seed this afternoon after steam rolling the Big Ten Tournament and most of the regular season. They conclude the year playing as well as anyone. It's a slam dunk, unequivocal guarantee that they're going to give this tournament absolute fucking hell. There's not a man in America outside of the NBA that can stop Kofi Cockburn while there's arguably no stronger coach to have your back than Brad Underwood.
Needless to say we're flying as high as we possibly can in Champaign, IL and we've deserved/earned every ounce of this flight. The boys simply play so much harder than everyone else. Monte bombing 3's from the wing. Belo making space in the paint. Ayo being a bonafide top-15 pick despite being a junior with a broken face bone. Just complete balance that shows up every year in the Final Four. I honestly and sincerely think Illinois is good enough to act like a dominant runaway train. That's what my brain says and so far this college baketball season, it really hasn't been wrong. Either come with me for the ride or just sit there quietly be and be wrong.
