Here are the big hitters:

1. Dredd (Feb 23rd) - Dredd is not only better than the original movie, but it's one of the better sci-fi action movies of the last few decades. It's more than worth watching Karl Urban kick ass and take names.

2. District 9 (Feb 9th) - Speaking of great sci-fi, this is definitly among the best in recent memory. It's a fantastic story with great acting and effect that hold up very well over time. 

3. Nomadland (Feb 19th) - This is a new movie that is going to get a lot of Oscar love this year. It's very earnest with a interesting look at a group of Americans that you might not ever be exposed to otherwise. It's definitely a little bit of a slow burn, though, so buyer beware. 

4. American Psycho (Feb 1st): Christian Bale is unbelievable in this movie. I wish more leading man quality actors like him would go back to doing evil roles, because that is where some of the best performances are waiting.

5. Logan Lucky (Feb 17th) - I have no idea why this movie gets slept on considering it is one of the best heist movies of the last decade. It's witty, has a fantastic actual heist, and some incredible laughs. Oh, and Daniel Craig does a GREAT southern accent.
