Barstool Chicago Small Business Feature - La Scarola With Eddie, Chief, and Dante

We're back with another feature of a great local Chicago business.

If you're from or live in Chicago there's a very strong chance you've visited or heard of La Scarola. It's more so an institution at this point than just a restaurant. And like so many other small businesses in the city, it's struggling. Really badly.

Eddie, Chief stopped by a couple weeks ago to visit one of its owners Armando for a tour and a breakdown of its history.

The video is long but it's really entertaining. As you'll see Armando is a character. He is the quintessential "restaurant man". Worked his way up from the kitchen to owner and he runs the floor like an orchestra conductor on a nightly basis.

The food is lights out. The ambiance, atmosphere, and service is even better.

La Scarola also happens to be where the infamous White Sox Dave beard picture was taken, as you'll see in the video...

Ways you can help:

1- Pay La Scarola a visit. They're located at 721 W Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60654.

2- Order take out. And include a bottle of wine! As you'll see in the video, they're portions are laughably big. Their margins are not. So the alchohol sales are a big help.

3- Follow them on social media and spread the word for them.

Small businesses are taking a beating right now. And it's not just the owners. It's the front and back of house staffs, the purveyors and vendors they do business with, and the family members of all they all employ. Help out as much as you can so we ensure our favorite places will still be around when this nightmare is over.

Hopefully, you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed making it. If so we'll have more rolling out in the next couple weeks. If you have any ideas for other small businesses we could cover please shoot them over - dantebarstool@gmail.com
