Annnnnnd Marcus Stroman Has Opted Out Of The 2020 Season

Big Gulps huh? Welp, seeya later! Marcus Stroman's 2020 season is over before it even began and since he hit his 6 years of service time, he is now slated to become a free agent this winter. Obviously I have no problem with Marcus opting out during this shit show of a coronaseason and would love to see him screaming like a lunatic on the Citi Field mound while Big Poppa Stro cheers him on from the stands next year.

Will that happen? I don't have any control over it and hopefully neither does the GM that brought in Stroman for 11 meh starts in exchange for two pitching prospects that did have actual value, regardless of where they stood on some website's prospect rankings on that given day.

I can't get on Brodie for a pandemic fucking up the entire world and Noah needing Tommy John surgery. But fuuuuuuck that trade is hard to swallow. I felt at the time it was a half measure move for a team that needed help in other places along with insurance for the Wilpons to have someone to point at for when Zack Wheeler inevitably left for more money elsewhere (we all know how much the Wilpons looooove insurance). 

On the bright side, it PROBABLY will not be remembered as the worst trade Brodie made during his tenure in Flushing, which I guess is good, right?

Nope, fuck that. Don't feel better one bit!

As for the rest of this Mets season that feels like it started back in March, it looks like we have deGrom, Peterson, and 3 days of gin on the docket for the foreseeable future.

If you aren't a drinker, maybe we can get some more meat in the rotation.

Jacob deGrom already all but killed the Win stat. Why not kill the entire premise of a pitching rotation? Here's to Jake getting all 34 of his 2020 starts in over the next 2 months!
