3 Mountain West Teams Won't Be On Campus For Fall Semester, But USC AD Says Their Game With Alabama Is Still On

Last night wasn't a great news cycle for the 2020 college football season. It started with the news about California's state university system:

Teams included in this: Fresno State, San Jose State, and San Diego State. Those are our first 3 FBS schools to officially say they won't have classes on campus this fall. It's been pretty clear from the start that if students aren't on campus, their respective football program will not be playing this fall. If that holds true, the Mountain West is down 3 teams heading into the 2020 season. 

Not included in the CSU system is USC, Stanford, and UCLA. No Pac-12 university has made an official decision yet, however, the CSU decision has led to speculation of what is to come. 

A few hours later, a report surfaced that Alabama is preparing for the fact that USC will not be able to play in their season opener.

That is a tweet from Mike Bohn, USC's AD. The question is whether or not he is trying to save face or he truly believes this. That's the question with all ADs & conference commissioners at this point. 

There's not much we can do now except wait. Speculating is fun and all, but on May 13th, the answers on the 2020 CFB season remain unclear. It's unfortunate, but it's the reality of this pandemic. We'll keep an eye on everything and continue to pray that the 2020 season is a full go.
