Daniel 'Mothafucka' Jones Better Work Out Because The Guy The Giants Should Have Drafted Is Now Being Called LeBron James (The Good Version)

[Source] - “He’s a beast,” Jack said. “They did their research on that pick. That was a great pick. Josh is very talented, very athletic. It’s freaky, man. That’s why I call him ‘LeBron James.’ He’s athletic. He can do a lot of things.”

Well I’m going to chalk this up to something I don’t really care to read at the moment. I’ve been outspoken about this and guess what? I’m not done speaking yet. The moment the Raiders passed on Josh Allen at No. 4, I tweeted this out

Really it was just me hoping they took Josh Allen. Obviously him being a UK guy and the chance for the Giants to take him was a dream. Now throw in the fact that he’s really, really, really fucking good and I wanted the Giants to take him even more. Then it happened.

They took Daniel Jones – dubbed ‘Mothafucka’ by Clem in hope that he turns out good. Now don’t get me wrong, he’s been good in the preseason. But, we’re talking about preseason against mostly second string for Jones. Sure, his arm looks fine, but he’s also fumbling at an alarming rate. Those are just facts.

But hearing that Josh Allen is being called LeBron James because he’s a freak athlete and not some diva is devastating. That’s not what I want to hear as he’s the guy the Giants should have drafted at No. 6. They had pick No. 17! I know, I know. You can’t ‘guarantee’ that they would have got Jones with that pick, but there are reports out there that they would have. At the minimum they could have traded up for him potentially or traded for Rosen or got Haskins. All fine options!

Hey Jay, Dave Gettleman claims “for a fact” that two teams would have taken Daniel Jones  between the Giants’ two picks, six and 17. Do you have any idea if this is true and/or who those teams are? – Tiernan O.

It was reported that the Giants believe those teams are the Broncos and the Redskins, but if the Giants believed that, they were incorrect. I can’t tell you where Gettleman got his information, but I don’t believe that information to be accurate.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand how important the QB spot is in the NFL. It’s the most important position in the game and arguably in sports. But it’s the fact they took Jones at No. 6 with Josh Allen there that really chaps my ass. Again, I firmly believe Glazer’s report that they could have gotten Jones at 17. That would have been fine. You get a pass rusher (also quite important) and your quarterback instead of a quarterback and more of a run-stuffer at No. 17 in Dexter Lawrence.

So not only do we have this LeBron comparison, we have these clips too

I don’t know, Joe! I wouldn’t have

I need Daniel Jones to work out. I can’t be pissed off at this franchise for a decade if Allen is this good and Jones is average. I just can’t. Listen, I’m attempting to move on and back Jones. He’s our guy now so I need and want him to succeed. Whatever, buy a shirt or something and let’s pray this shit works out
