How Long Until The NFL Makes Scooter Jousting Illegal?

Here’s the thing–have you ever read the official NFL rulebook? Have you read that bad boy from front cover to the back? Because I can guarantee you right now that if you go digging through the NFL rulebook, there’s not a single rule in there that specifically states that you cannot ride a scooter on the field and use it to tackle an opposing player. Find me the page in the rulebook where it says word-for-word that scooters are not allowed. You can’t. I know that it’s unconventional and we’ve never actually seen it during gameplay before, but there’s not a single “No Scooters Allowed” rule. That’s just a fact.

But if there’s one thing the NFL loves more than money, it’s taking things that people love and getting rid of them. So when we have 49ers rookies out there riding scooters on the field and jousting, it’s only a matter of time before the No Fun League decides to step in here and take it away from everyone.

Sidenote: I think this is the point in my life when I realized I’m officially old and washed up. Because the first thought that went through my head when watching that video was “imagine if one of them got hurt”. The moment you start thinking about how anything fun can potentially lead to an injury is the moment you know it’s over for you. I guess it was a good run, but it’s time to throw in the towel. 100% washed.
