Ronda Rousey Says Wrestling's Fake In Attempt To Promote Her Upcoming Wrestling Match

Alright, I gotta say, for a feud I called one of my favorites in years in Becky Lynch/Ronda Rousey – this shit just jumped the shark REAL QUICK! In record time!

Ronda Rousey, in attempt to promote herself as the actual fighter/mixed martial artist she is ahead of her WrestleMania main event with Becky Lynch, just released a “shoot” style video where she says wrestling’s fake and that none of these other “bitches” can touch her in real life. Rousey claims she’s disrespecting the industry on purpose, and actually fucking up Becky Lynch when they’re in the ring together! EEEEK!

Ronda’s obviously trying to work everybody into a shoot here, which…fine, I guess. Good on you for attempting it – but it’s just done in the completely wrong manner!

You see, the issue there is: you can’t undo that, and it kinda brings everybody else in the business down to bring one person up – one person who doesn’t need to be brought up. Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey don’t need their feud to feel like a “shoot”! It’s already the hottest rivalry the business has seen in quite some time! It doesn’t need people asking “OMG! Is this real or is this part of the storyline?!” Nobody cares about that kinda shit when the storyline is good…which it is. We all know wrestling is fake. That’s why we like it. We literally enjoy wrestling because of the fact that it’s make-believe.

Sometimes, on rare occasions, when the fourth wall is broken and “shoots” are worked into said storylines, they work tremendously well! See: CM Punk’s pipe-bomb…

Other times, they send the company involved into a downward spiral both creatively and financially causing them to collapse in on themselves and shut down for good. See: WCW under Vince Russo’s creative control…

There’s really no in-between, so Ronda, please leave the kayfabe-breaking to only the best of the best on the microphone, and please don’t run with this fancy new narrative you’re working with here no matter how much publicity its garnered. You do that, and the tweets like this one’ll keep rollin’ in…
