Don't Freak Out, Don't Freak Out, But Luis Severino Was Scratched From His Start Today With Right Shoulder Discomfort

F U C K. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Today was supposed to be fun. The Yankees are playing their A lineup against the Braves and Luis Severino was scheduled to make his spring training debut. About 5 minutes before first pitch we learned that Sevy was scratched from his start. Well, maybe it was because of the flu or just the weather or something? Nope. Right shoulder discomfort. The only thing that would scare me more would be right elbow discomfort. I have extreme anxiety right now. I’ve got a little bit of throw up in my mouth. Spring Training is about fun position battles (Voit vs. Bird) and staying healthy. Well, this is a nightmare. Just pray it’s precautionary and everything is fine because we need Severino this season to not only be healthy, but to be dominant as our ace. Losing him this early for an extended period of time would be catastrophic.

Heyman says to keep an eye on Gio Gonzalez and it makes sense they’ve been in on him with CC’s health questions.

But if this is actually a big injury, don’t be surprised if we hear Dallas Keuchel’s name gets brought up. He’s still out there and it’s safe to say we’ll need an arm bigger than Gio’s if this is worst case scenario. Let’s just pray for some good news so we don’t have to cross that bridge. Just don’t freak out. We’re not freaking out.
