There are many different ways to describe Ken Griffey Jr., like 13-time All Star, 10-time Gold Glove award winner, league MVP, Home Run Derby legend, and Hall of Famer. For as many ways as you can describe The Kid, there’s one thing that is mentioned every single time his name is brought up — his swing. I was on the golf team (JV) my freshman and sophomore year of high school, so I’m qualified to break down a golf swing, and THAT, my friends, is a beautiful golf swing. The one thing that stands out to me when it comes to both his baseball swing and his golf swing is how friggin’ easy he makes it look. In both sports, you often see guys taking these messy, violent hacks and swinging out of their asses, trying to hit the ball as far as physically possible. Griffey’s swings are just smooth and perfect. Dude barely swung, and probably drove the ball 500 yards. That’s why they call him The Natural.
