Yesterday Was a Tough Day To Have The Same Name As Browns Kicker Zane Gonzalez

Yesterday had to have been a weird day for baseball coach Zane Gonzalez. Dude was probably sitting back enjoying a great slate of NFL Sunday when all of a sudden his phone completely blew up. No offense to Zane, but with his 800+ followers I doubt he’s had too many moments where his phone stopped working because he was getting so many Twitter notifications. I have a feeling being the assistant coach for the Kalamazoo Growlers has not warranted any large backlash like yesterday, but I could be wrong. People forget Derek Jeter grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. There had to have been five minutes where Zane though he did something horribly wrong and we have all been in that spot. You get that cold sweat pouring down your neck, your heart starts racing a million miles a minute, and you’re just trying to figure out what you did the night before. Maybe you were blackout drunk and murdered someone by accident? The five minutes Zane had here to rationalize what was happening I don’t wish on anyone.

My guy here was getting death threats left and right, demands for lightning strikes, and hopes he would stub his toe and be stuck in traffic for the rest of his life. You can wish death all you want, but wishing someone to get stuck in traffic every night is down right cruel. I guess if you miss some crucial late field goals that would have given a team that hasn’t won in three years a win then you’re deserving of that. I’m sure Browns fans are willing to give this Zane a shot at some kicks after what they went through yesterday.
