Wondering How Much Top Schools Spend On Recruiting? It's A Lotttttttt Of Money

The ins and outs of college football have always intrigued me. For some, it's a little too "inside baseball," but as a college football geek, it gets my juices going.

I've always said: recruiting is the most important thing about college football. If you can't recruit well, you won't be a coach for very long. This is even more true in the top tier of college football. Sure, you may be a great talent developer at Louisiana Monroe, but what happens once you get to a Power 5 school? The talent you recruit is so important, no matter what those motivational "stars don't matter" tweets tell you!!!

So, how much do schools spend making sure they leave every year with a good recruiting class? Here is the top 15 via Stadium:

In graph form you can see the clear correlation:

As you can see, Georgia spends MUCH more on recruiting than anybody else. They actually spend more than Ohio State and Michigan combined.

How are those millions spent?!

Of course, Coach O's biggest expense is food.

P.s. Before I leave, I do want to point out that Rutgers spends the 20th most in the country, but still can't pull a class higher than 56th.
