Some Guy Invented A Motorized Surf Board And It's The Coolest Thing I've Ever Seen
So, I came across this video on Instagram the other day and I haven’t been able stop thinking about it since. So much so that I spent ten whole minutes researching the manufacturer and pricing out models for myself. As it turns out, I can’t afford the ten grand it would take to get one of these to New York, but I still want one. These boards use “hydrofoil” technology (a wing) to lift you out of the water and can propel you to speeds of up to twenty-seven miler per hour, which on the water seems like one thousand miles per hour. You don’t realize it in the video because there’s no wake, but that guy is cooking down the river. He’s ballsy, too, look at how close he gets to the bridge!
If he were to hit his head at that speed he’d be fucked.
Maybe the reason I want one of these so bad is because as difficult as it must be to operate, the video makes it look super easy. Like I’m confident I could roll up to HQ on one of these, no problem. The only thing they could’ve done to make it more appealing is add music to the background. Something smooth like this. Regardless, I want one of these things so bad and I’m going to watch these videos until I have one.
