New JJ Abrams Movie "Overlord" Screens At Fantastic Fest - "World War 2 But With Super-Soldier Monsters and Beating Up Nazis"

MASHABLEDirector Julius Avery’s Overlord screened for the first time at Fantastic Fest on Saturday, and the jam-packed war thriller has audiences buzzing with excitement. Collider praises the film’s blend of gore and drama and its commitment to genre. The trailer offers enough to pique our interest – World War II but with super-soldier monsters – but early reactions promise one hell of a ride.

JJ Abrams, World War 2, super-soldier monsters, and killing Nazis – ummm where do I sign?  I fucking hate Nazis!

Have yet to see a negative review or comment about it:

Sounds like Inglorious Bastards – one my top 5 favorites movies ever – but with zombies.  I don’t love zombies or zombie movies, but enough about this movie sounds good that I’m feeling tingly enough to see it.

The starring cast doesn’t have any big names, but sometimes that can be a good thing:

Jovan Adepo, Wyatt Russell, Jacob Anderson, Dominic Applewhite, Pilou Asbæk, Iain De Caestecker, John Magaro, Mathilde Ollivier and Bokeem Woodbine.

Release date is November 9 – not that I’m influenced by buzz or anything, but I’m 100% influenced by buzz.  Plus, as I mentioned, I fucking hate Nazis.
