MY OFFICIAL ROUGH N ROWDY 7 PREDICTION: DEATH FOR MATT BROWN

Screen Shot 2019-01-31 at 11.32.47 AM

I’ve been holding off writing this blog until today so I could make sure my prediction was on point. As you know, Matt Brown will be fighting Marty Mush in Rough N Rowdy 7. I don’t have a dog in this race so let me tell you what I’m not going to do.

I’m not going to address the fact that Matt walks around the office like he’s the CFO. I’m not going to talk about how he comes up to the third floor and stares people down for no reason. I’m not going to say that when I showed him a picture of me and Bernard Hopkins he told me to stop trying to “cling to relevance” or how when I helped him get a cab when he was drunk he told people that I was “trying to fuck him.” I’m bigger than that. I also understand that I have Irish Alzheimer’s.

Instead I’m going to focus on the facts. Marty is taller, faster, and longer that Matt- all things that if he uses to his advantage will result in a win. And that’s a big IF. Once the lights go on, Matt’s going to rush him. That’s a fact. He’s on the record as saying he’s going for the knock out. He’s going to crowd him and try to get inside. It’s Marty’s job to weather the storm, move his feet, and keep him at the end of his punches. Which is WAYYYYY harder to do than it looks. I took three steps total in my match after practicing footwork for two months. That said, he has the most experienced trainer at the gym so I (and only I) think he can do it.

However I am worried about Mush’s lack of killer instinct. He’s honestly one of the nicest kids I’ve ever met, hates confrontation. Has never hurt a fly.  Matt Brown on the other hand, wants to take Mush’s fucking head off. Ever since the fight was announced he’s been bodying him on social media. He was even talking shit during the flight to Atlanta.

His confidence is definitely convincing, but it’s not something I’m willing to change my prediction on. Mostly because I think it will be his demise. He’s created so much pressure on himself that he cannot lose. Three-thousand dollars of his own money on top of Barstool’s $10K is a of lot dough to claim as your own before you’ve thrown a punch. I think even he knows he’s been too cocky and that’ll affect his head.

The key to winning in Rough N Rowdy hinges on your ability to remain calm and I don’t know if Matt will be able to do that. Although to his credit, he’s done a fantastic job playing up his character. He can also take multiple punches to the face without going down, which always helps.

In the end it’s going to either go one of two ways: Marty in a decision or Matt Brown in a knockout. Which as I’m writing this blog seems like more and more of a possibility. Especially considering he trained with Leo and Chimmy of Mendez Boxing. Shout out Leo.

Mush is definitely the under dog, but I think he’s going to pull it out. Whatever happens, I can’t wait to see how these two act when they get back to HQ. Someone’s going to have to quit.
