Greatest NFL Fan On The Planet "Boltman" Says He Was Detained At The Chargers Game And Almost Treated Like Rodney King For Refusing To Take His Boltman Mask Off

Times Of San DiegoWas Boltman detained nearly a half-hour at Sunday’s Chargers game? Was the longtime superfan threatened by stadium security in Carson over his refusal to shed his mask?

In a 13-minute on-air chat Monday afternoon with a sports talk radio show, Dan Jauregui of Ramona — once an official Chargers mascot as Boltman — contends he escaped being ejected at the StubHub Center when security backed off for fear of bad PR.

“It would have been a media catastrophe” for the Los Angeles Chargers, Jauregui told Scott Kaplan and Linda Welby in a 3:45 p.m. call-in to the Mighty 1090. “They called it off. [A sheriff’s deputy] was just getting ready to take me out.”

Boltman!   I hope everybody is familiar with Boltman – all our longtime Barstool readers know him well.  He’s basically THE Superfan.  Not just of football, of sports in general.  Boltman makes the biggest superfan of your team look like your buddy’s wife who asks what the yellow line on the field means and why it keeps moving (no sexist).    Bottom line is the guy is a legend who eats, breathes, sleeps the Chargers.  The Goat.

Which makes this story all that more unbelievable.  That security at the Chargers game would not only hassle Boltman, but actually STOP him and DETAIN him and almost treat him like RODNEY KING.  He’s Boltman!!  What the fuck??  It’s like having respect for your elders times 1 billion – have respect for fucking Boltman.

In a phone interview Tuesday afternoon, Jauregui said he had waltzed through security “like President Trump,” not stopping for a second while wearing his headgear to his first Carson game.

“The alarms went off … and this girl just giggled and said, ‘Hey, Boltman,’” he said. “If they don’t get rid of the ownership, it’s highly unlikely I’ll support the Chargers as Boltman. … They treated me like a criminal. … You can’t even make this stuff up — to harass one of your most recognizable fans.”

Had videographers not been present, he said, he would have been thrown to the ground and wrestled out “like Rodney King.”

Saying he “wasn’t going to leave without a fight,” Jauregui, 52, described how he refused to take off his plastic mask in the StubHub concourse. He said as many as 10 security people surrounded him and some associates, and deputies were called.

This is just ridiculous.  Unconscionable.   Apparently you’re allowed to wear masks at your seat, but not through security, for some bullshit reason like “you may be a wanted criminal” or “you may be blackout drunk and a danger to everyone around you” or something.   Yeah maybe that applies to Joe Public.  Boltman?  No chance.

Bolt says he may not go to any more games and frankly can you blame him?

Go Bolt indeed.

And now….

I will  leave you with some of the greatest pictures that have ever existed since the invention of cameras.
