European Soccer Fans Are Batshit Crazy Pt. 432,124,319: Serbian Club Fans Brought A Goddamn Tank To The Stadium

[Source] - RED STAR BELGRADE fans brought a tank outside their stadium ahead of their Champions League game with Swiss champions Young Boys tonight. 

Croatian media said the tank is “a clear provocation” and “a scandal” and demanded that Uefa react. The real battle tank was used during the bloody breakup of Yugoslavia in the 90s and fans decorated it in red and white club colours.

European soccer fans are just different, man. I mean as someone who has traveled around the SEC, which is the premier college football league and the craziest fans, I’ve seen some shit. I can NOT imagine showing up to a stadium with a goddamn tank just sitting there. That’s intimidation.

I feel like there are no rules when it comes to this. Now, I get the war to breakup Yugoslavia is serious, but I’m not quite sure how this is a scandal and what UEFA can do here. Just tell the fans to move the tank? You still know now as an away player that you could have a tank or some other heavy artillery sitting out there.

One question here though. How the hell did they get this tank? Clearly someone got it because they painted it with the team logo and colors. Granted I’ve never been in the tank buying business, but I’d assume it’s fairly complicated and expensive at the least. I don’t hate the move though. Makes me want to get a Kentucky tank to bring to Commonwealth this year.
