Poor Henrik Lundqvist

I don’t even know what to say. Tonight was simply an embarrassment. This squad is softer than a newborn’s first baby shit & I don’t mean just physically (even though 6’5″ 225 pound Kevin Hayes couldn’t even get Radulov’s attention despite being draped on him for the final Habs goal). I’ve said all along my biggest concern was the Rangers lack of an “it” factor and, in typical form, they lived up to that lack yet again on home ice.

Forget Glass, Buchnevich, Holden, Klein or whatever other lineup decisions you think should or shouldn’t happen. Just about every single forward hasn’t been able to do a fucking thing to force the issue offensively in three games. All Montreal does is stand up at the blue line and bully the Rangers into a turnover, a weak dump that’s picked off by Price behind the net or a low percentage shot from outside the slot. They change nothing – and if they actually generate a decent chance, they’ll just pass it around again until the puck goes the other way.

You simply HAVE to adjust somehow. Can’t keep skating the puck through the neutral zone and asking Montreal defenders politely if you can please be allowed to go through. Hammer the puck in. Forecheck. Crash the net and if the Habs & Price doesn’t like it, tough shit. It’s exactly what a struggling Canadiens offense is doing. Credit to them – they were great tonight – but the fact that it looked as though the Rangers just shrugged and accepted it is exactly what fans have seen in the 5 straight home playoff L’s prior to #6 tonight.

4 goals in 6 consecutive home playoff losses. That’s nothing but gutless. Great teams will their way to at least putting up a fight under their own roof. But not the New York Rangers. They’re just accommodating hosts who hope the opposition enjoys their stay in the Big Apple. How nice.
