Bono Says Send In Amy Schumer, Chris Rock & Sacha Baron To Fight ISIS With Comedy

The Independent — Bono was appearing in front of a US Appropriations Subcommittee hearing in Capitol Hill on Tuesday when he urged Congress to act quickly to counter the global refugee crisis and terrorism, claiming fighting violence with more violence is to “speak their language”.

“Don’t laugh,” he said. “I think comedy should be deployed. It’s like, you speak violence, you speak their language. But if you laugh at them when they’re goose-stepping down the street, then it takes away their power.

So I am suggesting that the Senate send in Amy Schumer and Chris Rock and Sacha Baron Cohen, thank you.

Have to believe when Bono was 5 his mom said “kill them with kindness” and it’s literally the only combative philosophy he’s retained ever since?

Bono is on a crusade for combating the global refugee crisis and is doing the celeb-politic thing where they write for the New York Times and lecture Congress. Congress says Bono? From U2!? Sure bring him in! and Bono translates that as I will now save the world. So here we are.

While he may be well-intentioned and say a few logical things, this phenomenon of rich celebrities lecturing American leadership on how to spend our tax dollars is a joke. Bono isn’t even an American citizen. He’s standing on a net worth of $600 million but lecturing our elected officials on how to spend Americans’ money, who make a median household income of under $52,000/year? Get outta here.

Between Leo spewing about climate change from his G-5, Rodman organizing basketball games with the North Korean dictator that wants to nuke us, and Bono lecturing Congress from his mountain of cash, we’re not buying it.

So, Bono and other guilt-stricken celebs, go bring medical supplies to Africa or save a few families from Syria. That’s fantastic. But don’t come back and lecture us on what to do with our money. We’ll spend about $38 billion on foreign aid this year and are about to elect a guy that snagged a Slovenian and made her a billionaire. If that’s not solid foreign aid I don’t know what is.
