Mo Wagner Told Kevin Durant "You Can't Guard Me" During His Rookie Season, And It Hilariously Backfired

On today's Pardon My Take... MO AND FRANZ WAGNER! The duo of brothers (wild) joined Mr. Cat and Mr. Commenter in-studio during their road trip to Chicago a few weeks ago to discuss playing in the NBA, growing up in Germany, Michigan, their welcome to the league moment, and tons more.

Speaking of a "welcome to the league" moment, Mo told a hilarious story on today's show regarding a time where he talked trash to Kevin Durant during Wagner's rookie season. Here are the full details of that exchange:

Telling Kevin Durant that he can't guard you as a ROOKIE(!) in the NBA is a wild move. Now, Wagner admits that he did not know it was Durant when he uttered that phrase, but man, I can only imagine how much regret he had the moment he realized who was on the defensive end of that play.

Alright, so the game transitions to the free throw line, where Wagner gets three shots after Durant's foul. Who is greeting him at the key as the rookie is about to put up three free throws? KD, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins.

That would result in going 1-for-3 at the stripe, and it's honestly impressive that Wagner sunk one of the shots considering who was in his ear.

KD even got in on the story as well...

And we have the footage of the play as well…

I highly recommend listening to this interview. The Wagner brothers clearly get the show and are very easy to root for.
