10-Win Iowa's First Half Team Total Against Michigan In The Big Ten Championship Game Is.......Half A Point

I'll take 0 points and buy the hook, please!!!! This Iowa football team may not go down as the best of all time, but it will certainly be remembered in the Sportsbook Record Books forever.

What an absolute thing of beauty this is. We've had historically low game totals and low team totals all year, but you gotta put this first half line in the Gambling Hall of Fame. You have Iowa, a team with 10 fucking wins, with a ONE HALF POINT over/under total in both halves of this game. I've stared at this line for an hour straight and I still don't think I can comprehend how mesmerizing it is. How does a team have a one half point total in a football game, let alone in the Big 10 Championship Game? And how does that team go 10-2........?

But after you're done trying to wrap your mind around it, you have to go bet the over.....right? Like, one interception on the plus side of the field, or a fumble, or a broken play, or even a kickoff return past the 50 on one of Michigan's 10 touchdowns they'll score on Saturday and you gotta think Iowa can at least get a FIELD GOAL. I mean, shit, even if they pin Michigan inside the 5 yardline and somehow get a safety out of it, losing the first half 35-2, this bet cashes!

Guys, Iowa is 10-2 on the season. I'm not saying they are the Greatest Show On Turf by any means, but you simply have to assume they score 1 point on Saturday. In their 12 games, they've not scored a point in the first half twice. I get they're not playing Michigan every weekend, but 83% of the time this bet would cash. If I told you there was a bet that hits 83% time, everyone would run to the payday advance store and cash in their future checks. So what's different here? It's betting with your head AND your heart.

Then again, Vegas was not built on winners....

Is this a sucker bet? Do you actually have to be on Iowa to NOT score a point? No, no. You can't do that. You cannot cheer for 30 consecutive game-time minutes of no scoring by a team. You have to cheer for a point. They're going to score 1 point.
