Did Paige Spiranac Save The Milwaukee Brewers Season? The Evidence Is Overwhelming

Through 68 games the Milwaukee Brewers found themselves stuck in the mud. The NL Central was wide open with teams like the Cubs and Reds chomping at the bit to surge ahead. They needed a spark, and with darkness seeping in from all angles, in swooped a guardian angel to save the season.

Enter Paige Spiranac bobblehead night on June 16th.

Since that night the Brewers transformed themselves into a first place team. They proceeded to go 58-36 and ran away with the Central. And yes for the sake of the argument you can say Christian Yelich remembering how to hit a baseball played in their favor. William Contreras turning into one of the best hitting catchers in the game helped their cause. The pitching has been a force not to be trifled with.

Yeah that's all great, but Paige Spiranac is the clear true spark of the 2023 Milwaukee Brewers. Convincing yourself it's anything else is just a waste of time and effort.

Wisconsin sports talk radio host Grant Bilse has been all over this.

(NYPost) On June 23, as the Brewers had ripped off a 5-2 stretch since the promotion, Bilse posted a podcast mockumentary where for 25 minutes he imitated a “30 for 30” doc chronicling “the promotion that saved a season.”

Going through offseason transactions and the aforementioned middling start, Bilse eventually reached “Golf Night” in mid-June, and laid down the stakes for the event in which Spiranac was the featured attraction.

“It was now becoming clear to [Brewers business executive] Rick Schlesinger and those that work with him: Paige Spiranac’s visit to American Family Field in June would be a turning moment for the franchise,” he deadpanned.

“If executed poorly, golf night could be the kind of catastrophe that ends this era of Brewers baseball, similar to a dying star collapsing unto itself. But executed well, it could be up there with moments like the 1982 [World Series runner-up] team, and, well, that’s about it.”

I never really give the Brewers a shot in the postseason because of their inept hitting ability, but maybe this year is different.  It's not a great start that Brandon Woodruff looks to be knocked out already with a shoulder injury, but I can think of a replacement on the bump.

P.S. If Paige isn't throwing out the first pitch tonight then what's even the point?
