We Had Ourselves One Hell Of A Day Yesterday, And It's Got Me Feeling Damn Good About Today's Picks

Hey now! We had ourselves one a hell of a day yesterday. Your boy has officially made money gambling this year and has his home run props to thank for that. I got to give Sandy Alcantara credit. He went out and dealt, throwing a complete game against the Yankees as the Marlins covered on the run line. The Houston Astros once again dominated the Los Angeles Angels. I like winning bets, but I enjoy winning when I don’t have to sweat it out. And Kyle Tucker, my Lord and Savior, went deep Once again, and we ended up with a 3-0 day. This is one hell of a turnaround, dude. We were reeling there for a minute, but this is why you trust the process. I’ve said from the beginning this is a journey of self-discovery, and I’ll be damned if we’re not starting to discover ourselves. Now, we try to get greedy. Let’s take a look at today’s picks.

Yankees -1.5 (+135) against the Marlins

I feel like a traitor here. I went with the Marlins on the run line yesterday, and now I’m switching it up and going with the Yankees on the run line today. Eury Perez is going for the Marlins. He’s been a rookie sensation. It wouldn’t shock me at all the pitches well against this pretty so-so Yankees lineup. But the fact that I can get Gerrit Cole at +135 is an opportunity I’m taking. Cole has been sensational this year. I know many people are down on the Yankees, and I am one of those people, but Gerrit Cole will end up winning the American League Cy Young this year, and right now, he deserves it. He’s been fantastic. In the past, the Yankees have had some difficulty getting run support for him, but I hope they come out pissed off after yesterday’s one-run outing. If they do that, I think they’ll cover easily.

Giants -1.5 (+145) against the Rangers

I usually try to go with a hot hand in many instances, but I feel like the Rangers haven't lost in forever. What they're doing is amazing because they've had some pretty devastating injuries, and they just continue to roll. The Astros have been breathing down their necks for the last two months, and they won't give up that divisional lead. They slapped the Giants around in the series' first two games, but they're yet to face a pitcher of Logan Webb's caliber. Webb has excellent numbers in this ballpark in San Francisco. This is more of a feel pick, and I feel like the Giants just need this one. They need to find a way to stay in the wildcard race, and you do that by taking care of business at home. The Rangers are really damn good, but I think, with their backs against the wall, the Giants take care of business.

George Springer to homer (+550) against the Cubs

We got to keep rolling with the home run props. I still really like George Springer. I know his numbers are way down compared to his previous career totals, but he's always been a very fun player to watch. Today he's going up against a pitcher he has pretty good power numbers against. In 23 plate appearances against Jameson Taillon, Springer only has four hits, but he's clubbed two home runs. Taillon has really struggled this season for the Cubs, which is surprising cause he had an excellent season with the Yankees a year ago. Springer has experience against Taillon. They both played last season in the American League East. Much like the Giants, the Blue Jays need this one. They're in danger of falling out of the wildcard race. They desperately need a bounce back, and I hope George Springer can give them a spark.
