I Now Present To You The Perfect 2023 Home Run Derby Field

We've got more and more names starting to emerge for the home run derby in a few days, and it's some star power. Julio Rodriguez will for sure put on a show for his hometown fans, Vlad Jr is back again, Mookie Betts will be fun to watch. I sneaky think that Randy Arozarena can make a run at this thing too, which would be fun.

I think there are some massive names out there that would complete the Derby field to give us a really good showing. I got 4 other guys who I think should be in the derby to give us the best one possible.

Elly De La Cruz

But RDT he only has 3 career home runs! I don't care! He's awesome. The dude is an alien, he's is a Create-A-Player and I need to see him put on an absolute show in Seattle. You want young star power? You got it. You want a guy representing the hottest team in baseball over the last month? Boom, he's your guy. Cruz has some serious power and we saw it on his first career bomb. No doubt he'd hit some balls into places we've never seen in Seattle. Would be a fantastic idea by MLB to bring him along.

Luis Robert

LouBob finally doing the things we thought he would, turn into a complete player. When he's healthy he is so damn exciting to watch. He has every single tool, it's just a matter of if he can put it all together, and this year he is. Quietly he is tied for 3rd in the bigs with 24 homers, already a career high. He hits some absolute TANKS.

Love his swing and how smooth it is, the guy is a natural. He's an all around athlete so you know he can do some damage in a BP session. Him in the derby would be a lot of fun. Lot of power and a silky smooth swing, sign me up for the LouBob show. Plus the White Sox need something to cheer for, right?

Fernando Tatis Jr.

I'm fully back on the Tatis Jr. train. People were trashing him because of the PED suspension and the motorcycle accident and all that, but hey it's water under the bridge. He's back and he's depositing balls into the stands like it's his job (it is). 16 homers on the year for Nando and I think him being invited to do the derby and performing well would be a nice way to repair that image. He's a ton of fun, a walking all of energy, he would have the place going nuts. I think it would be awesome to see him in the derby. I get why he wouldn't because of injuries in the past and stuff, but selfishly I want to see him there.

Do I really need to say why?

Honorable Mentions:

There are a couple of other guys who could be fun as well.

- Josh Jung from the Rangers, who is quietly having a very good rookie year and was named an All Star starter.

- Corbin Carroll is another rookie blowing the league out of the water, but with his shoulder injury I'd assume he's out.

- Give me some Anthony Santander out there in Seattle, he can hit em a longgggg way.

- I'd love to see Acuna in there but I know he already said no.

- Jorge Soler also hits them to placed no one else can.

- Jake Burger is hitting them in bunches for Chicago, he'd be a fun addition, as WSD wrote about.

- I'd also love to see a guy like Adolis Garcia in there, he is another guy who flies under the radar but hits absolute tanks.

There is my dream 2023 Home Run Derby field, thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Let me know if I missed anyone or who you would want to see sock some dingers in Seattle.
