Expert Says There is a 50% Chance A.I. Will Wipe Out All of Humanity And We Won't See it Coming Because Machines Are Smart And We Are Dumb

Daily Mail - If you're not scared of artificial intelligence (AI) yet, an expert thinks there's a 50 per cent chance it will wipe out humanity.

Max Tegmark, a physicist and AI expert at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has given a deeply worrying prediction about our future on this planet.

I'm not sure who this professor thinks he is, or who exactly declared him an "expert" on A.I., but that's not a fucking prediction dude. You can't predict that there's a 50% chance something happens. "I predict that it might rain this week, but on the other hand maybe it won't." He literally can't be wrong. If A.I. kills us all, Professor Tegmark is going to be doing victory laps all the way up until a robot dogs hunts him down and rips his body apart limb by limb.

Maybe I should start making 50% predictions like this.

- I predict there's a 50% chance I win the lottery

- I predict there a 50% chance Dave Portnoy will no longer be working for Barstool in 5 years.

- I predict there's a 50% chance that Gigi Hadid reads this blog, DM's me her phone number, and asks me on a date

Shoot, it didn't happen? Well I predicted that too.

According to the academic, history has shown that Earth's smartest species – humans – are responsible for the death of 'lesser' species, such as the Dodo.

Therefore, if and when AI becomes smarter than humans, the same fate could easily await us, he warns.

What's more, we won't know when our demise at the hands of AI will occur, because a less intelligent species has no way of knowing.

'About half of all other species on earth have already been exterminated by us humans,' he said.

'Because we were smarter, they had no control.

'What we are warning about now is that if we humans lose control over our society to machines that are much smarter than us, then things can go just as bad for us.'

He's actually making some ok points. Dodo birds are to humans and humans are to robots. Cream always rises to the top. Maybe it will happen (it probably will happen). But Professor Max Tegmark will NOT be getting any credit from me for his prediction. Say it with your chest next time Max.

Also, I  don't know where the Daily Mail got that picture from, but if we don't want to all be murdered by robots, then I suggest we stop building ones with scary skeleton faces and bright red eyes.

What do you think that robot is going to do? Walk old ladies across the street? No. He's going to eviscerate buildings with laser vision, pick up cars and spike them through the earth,  gun down stadiums full of people with his machine gun dick, transform into tank, etc.

How about we stick to cute robots. This little guy wouldn't hurt a fly.

It's going to be so lame when A.I. eventually does end the world. So fucking lame. It would actually be kind of fun if we were all hunted down by terminator robots, robot dogs, and the like. It'd be just like a video game. But it's not going to be that cool. Realistically, they're just going to somehow get the launch codes, set off all the world's nuclear weapons and once, and we'll be dead in the blink of an eye. It could happen any minute.

In the meantime, let's make sure we all take advantage of the good features A.I. has to offer while we still can.
