Holy crap! Brian Kelly Is Headed To The Bayou

LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward has done it again.

Chris Peterson from Boise St. to Washington.

Jimbo Fisher from Florida State to Texas A&M.

And now Brian Kelly from Notre Dame to LSU.

The man does not screw around.

Brian Kelly is 54-8 since 2017 at Notre Dame! And that is a much harder place to win than he gets credit for with their academic requirements as a private school.

He maxed out what he had at Notre Dame and got massacred in 2012 title game and 2020 playoffs by Alabama by a combined 72-21 score.

It is hard to believe he’s leaving a school that is 11-1 while in the middle of playoff race. That’s an unprecedented move.

But the advantages of LSU job are undeniable. Kelly wants to prove he is the best. And the fertile recruiting ground in the Deep South will provide ample opportunity. And there are plenty of Catholics in South Louisiana too…..

Kelly may not be the nicest human (Kayce Smith Cyber Monday Merch plug) but he also will straighten out the off field issues that have plagued LSU’s program under Les Miles and Coach O.

LSU fans are notoriously hard to please but they can rest easy tonight after an absolutely bonkers last 48 hours.

Once again, Scott Woodward got his man and proved why he is one of the best ADs in the game.  

And Lane Kiffin is still the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels!  I was anxious until I finally saw LSU name a new coach. Deep sigh of relief.
