The End Of An Era: Beck Bennett Leaves SNL As Show Announces Three New Cast Members For Upcoming Season

Source - Less than a week before Saturday Night Live returns to NBC, the network officially confirmed the cast for season 47. Most notably, Beck Bennett is leaving after eight years on the long-running sketch series as Chole Fineman and Emmy nominee Bowen Yang get promoted to the main cast.

In other news, Kennan Thompson will be returning for his hundredth season along with the following cast...

This year’s ensemble now includes Fineman, Yang as well as Aidy Bryant, Michael Che, Pete Davidson, Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, Colin Jost, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, and Melissa Villaseñor with Athari, Johnson, and Sherman joining returning featured players Andrew Dismukes and Punkie Johnson.

Admittedly I'm not much of an SNL guy anymore, but I am a huge fan of Beck Bennett. For me, him and Kyle Mooney are two of the funniest guys on the show. Luckily Mooney will be back, but Beck is gone. Which stinks because they worked so well together. I guess that's what happens when you start doing doing sketches in your kitchen and end up on SNL. Incredible. As far as the new cast goes- I have no idea who any of these people are. The only one I know is Bowen Yang and that's just because he was in the news so much last year. Regardless, it'll be interesting to see what SNL comes up with this year given the political climate. Time will tell. Now here's a compilation of Beck Bennett's best moments. Enjoy…
