Jonah Hill Put The Body-Shaming Daily Mail On Blast, Standing Up For Himself And Embracing Body-Positivity

We don't talk about male body shaming enough. It's a very real thing, as is male body dysmorphia. It's not talked about because us men are supposed to always be so alpha, so secure, and so in control that caring about our bodies or showing weakness is generally frowned upon. You get ridiculed if you aren't comfortable in your body, which only leads to more self-hate and insecurity.

Some people don't feel what Jonah Hill is talking about at all, ever. Some people do but over-compensate through humor. And some 100% completely understand where Jonah is coming from and let it dictate their lives. It's a spectrum, of course, but the idea that there is something wrong with you as a man if you aren't comfortable in your body is way more common than we realize.

I've had conversations with several coworkers about hating how we look and about male body dysmorphia which made sound odd, but once you start talking about it, you realize a lot of people have the same insecurities as you. I hate how I look 95% of the time. I've been working out 5 times a week and eating healthy nonstop for 2 months now and have seen 0 changes. It's literally, scientifically impossible for that to be true, but that's how I feel. It lives rent free in my brain that to my eyes, nothing I do will change how I look to myself.

Rome wasn't built in a day and being comfortable with yourself won't happen overnight. Jonah Hill has $100 million and still struggles with taking his shirt off. So if you're struggling, hopefully Jonah can help you feel more comfortable and confident and you can get to a place like he is now where you do feel good about yourself.

Weird blog for sure and I'll probably continue to make fun of fat people (and all other people for that matter) but at the same time I can feel happy for Jonah for overcoming the mental obstacles in his life. Both can exist.
