To whom it may concern,

I would like to respectfully request funds from Barstool.  Let me tell you about our business.

Cascio's Fruit Market is a 104 year old produce company in Somerset, Pennsylvania.  If Somerset sounds familiar to you it is because we were deemed America's County a few years ago when Flight 93 went down in Shanksville PA and one year later the miners were trapped underground here in Somerset.   We have seen a lot as a community and the people here have rallied and cared for our own in a tremendous manner.  Throughout it all Cascio's has remained on Main Street.

We provide produce and many groceries items to the community and we employ approx 17 people through the pandemic. We have not cut our staff and continue to keep everyone employed.  However, our business has been deeply affected.  With the closing of camps, schools and restaurants we have seen our business fall off immensely.

During the influenza of 1918, Cascio's established itself by providing lemons to the community and delivering groceries and supplies to homes and housebound residents.  When Covid hit we went back to our roots and have continually been offering curbside pick up and home delivery.  We also implemented a food box service where we provided free food to residents who found themselves without work.  We did this with minimal help from other organizations.  You need food, we give you food.

As we face our future we have seen a huge depletion in our own reservoirs since over half of our business has vanished virtually overnight. We continue to employee people and have not cut their hours but the truth is we don't know how much longer we can do this.

We respectfully request that you consider helping us help our staff and our community with a grant from your fund.

We are grateful for your consideration.
