BREAKING NEWS: Doug Pederson Has Been Fired By The Philadelphia Eagles

It took just 3 years for the Philadelphia Eagles to go from winning a Super Bowl to becoming the most dysfunctional organization in all of professional sports. Honestly, that is a remarkable achievement. To go from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows in that short of time? Truly impressive.
And it's all thanks to the architects themselves--Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman. These two fuckheads assembled one of the greatest fronts that the world has ever seen. A team that looked like they were destined to become the league's next dynasty on the outside, but on the inside this organization was rotten to its core. A $100 million mansion on the outside, but in reality it was all just a crack house. And just like a crack house, the walls of this organization are crumbling and there are leaks everywhere.
So when Doug Pederson went to Florida today to meet with Jeffrey Lurie 1-on-1 to discuss the future of the franchise, pretty much the whole damn thing made it out to the media.
Now here's the thing--that plan by Doug? It sucked. It sucked so hard that I'm starting to think that Doug actually wanted to get fired. Not bringing in any outside hires after such a catastrophic season seems like the plan of a man who basically looked Jeffrey Lurie in the face and told him to fire him.

But still. It was just 9 days ago that the report came out that all signs pointed towards Doug Pederson remaining in Philadelphia. Just 9 days ago that the organization seemed like they were going to try to do everything they could to repair the fractured relationship between Doug, Carson and Howie Roseman. And today they fire the coach that won them a Super Bowl just 3 years ago.
I don't want my shock to come off as saying that I HATE the decision. I don't think that Doug Pederson was the right coach for this team anymore because I think he completely lost the locker room. I didn't think he was that smart of a coach from the beginning, but he was gutsy and he knew how to lead. Now he was just reckless, stubborn, and didn't seem to motivate the way he did before. But I still don't understand how Howie Roseman remains so safe in this situation. I don't understand one bit how Howie Roseman has the most job security out of everybody here. Because at the end of the day, this all comes down to Howie.
The roster is fucked. It's old, it's expensive, and there is no simple solution coming anytime in the near future. Even if Howie manages to not fuck up this 6th overall pick in the upcoming draft, it won't be enough to make this Eagles team a legitimate contender right away. So do you really have faith in him not only making the right pick in this draft, but making all the right calls for the foreseeable future? Absolutely fucking not.
But somehow Howie is still safe here, and Doug is out. My guess is that this means that Carson Wentz will be staying in Philadelphia, and I'm pretty happy with that. Not only for the financial reasons, but because I think there is still some hope of greatness there. And I'd go with Carson over Doug every time. But it's just the fact that Howie Roseman, that little fucking snake, is still here and calling the shots. That's what gives me absolutely zero faith in this crack house franchise moving forward.
So yeah. What a day.
