The Barstool Fund - Kelly's Seafood

Up next: Kelly's Seafood (Philadelphia, PA)

Since 1958, Kelly’s has been a favorite of friends and family. Seafood is their centerpiece, but they are a classic seafood and steakhouse with terrific sandwiches, burgers and classic pub favorites.

Kelly's Seafood is a family restaurant located in Northeast Philadelphia. It's been around since 1958 and has had 4 generations of Kellys working there. It was started by William and Ron Kelly, my great-grandfather and grandfather. Ron Kelly, as an 85-year-old, still occasionally comes in to help with the business. For years now, my father (Brett Kelly) and uncle (Brian Kelly) have managed and cooked at Kelly's. We have many loyal customers and staff members that have been part of our restaurant community for decades.

Since Philadelphia has shutdown indoor dining numerous times, it has really hurt the business since we normally are not a restaurant that offers indoor dining. During the summer months, Brett and Brian had to use their own money to pay for tents to place in the parking lot to provide outdoor dining. Now that it's winter, and indoor dining has been shutdown again, outdoor dining just isn't an option and Kelly's is struggling to survive on take-out. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are usually the biggest nights of the year. Thank you Barstool.
