Notre Dame Proves Once Again They Are Legit (Especially Their Defense)

In all honesty, after UNC made it was 14-7, I was ready to tweet out from the Unnecessary Roughness account "can you imagine this Notre Dame defense against Alabama?" Thank god I didn't, because Notre Dame's defense allowed just 3 points from that point forward in truly dominant fashion. It was beautiful to watch as a Notre Dame -5.5 backer.

Not to say anybody was doubting Notre Dame coming into this game, but this was yet another example of them showing that they are a legit team in 2020. They proved that against Clemson and then in a letdown spot against Boston College. Today, on the road as a 4.5 point favorite, the Irish showed up again. That line was begging you to take Notre Dame, and there is a reason why the hotels in Vegas are so nice.

In other news: Ian Book played great. 

He is one of the best QBs in the country. Brian Kelly, who gets made fun of left and right, made the right decision with him and Tommy Rees. Former assistant coach of the year OC Chip Long wanted to roll with Phil Jurkovec (not that that was necessarily the wrong decision), so much so that he left Notre Dame. Kelly rode with a 28-year-old OC and Ian Book. He should be given credit for that.

Are they as good as Alabama, Clemson with Trevor, and Ohio State? I think so. The playoff featuring those 4 would be awesome.
