An Appliance and Mattress Store Is Making All Purchases Free If Ohio State Shuts Out Michigan On Saturday

So this is obviously taken straight out of Mattress Mack's playbook, but it's still a genius business move for any furniture store to do these days. Make a crazy offer like this and watch the free advertising roll in. Darren Rovell tweeted about this, it's going around the Columbus news, and now it's on Barstool. Tons of publicity and very, very little risk.

The way this specific deal works is that any appliance or mattress purchased in the Ohio stores between November 24th and November 29th will be reimbursed in full if Ohio State shuts out Michigan on Saturday.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Maybe this one has a little too much risk? Mattress Mack said the Astros had to win the World Series. This store is saying that the Buckeyes just need to shut out Michigan? Ummm, that's not too bad of a deal, seeing as Ohio State has the #1 ranked scoring defense** (please see footnote) in the entire country.....

And when you factor in that Michigan still starts my favorite Wolverine QB of all time, Shea Patterson, and well, I think I need to go buy that new washing machine I've been wanting.

Do I think the Buckeyes shut out Michigan on Saturday? Eh, no. I don't. But I also think the people that are saying "this one is going to be much closer than you'd think" are out of their mind. The Buckeyes are an absolute wagon in all aspects of the game, and Michigan has gotten beat by the only two teams on their schedule that are worth a damn. And we beat those teams by a combined million....

All I'm saying is that to my Ohio brethern, if you're going to go buy a mattress or appliance in the next couple months anyways, might as well go do it now. Anyone saying there's no way we shut them out with THIS defense probably also thought there was no way we scored 62 on THAT defense last year....

**Ohio State also has the #1 ranked scoring offense, but that is irrelevant to this blog.
