Apparently Steph Curry Has Been Ruining Basketball Since He Was 12

Golden State Warriors v Brooklyn Nets

That video right there is why the internet will forever be undefeated. Steph Curry is #12 in this video, and I think it’s safe to say that a 12 year old Steph Curry would destroy every single person reading this blog right now. Look at that footage, that is 2018 Steph Curry, but in the year 2000. Look at how he is coming off screens and making the corner three, you’re telling me that isn’t EXACTLY what he does now? It’s a little creepy if we’re being honest. You can see he was still pulling up from deep with no regard for human life at a time when I’m sure him Mom still packed his lunch. Look at the swag and the ability to use his handle to get to the rim, again, just like 2018 Steph does.

So while we all thought Steph Curry and the Warriors ruined basketball when they brought in Kevin Durant, it’s clear that Steph has clearly been ruining basketball for nearly 20 years. Imagine seeing that video and not offering this kid a scholarship? How do you not know right away that this kid is going to be perhaps the greatest shooter to ever walk this earth? What I find most impressive is his form is nearly identical. Everyone who has played basketball has changed and improved their form from when they were 12 simply because they stronger. You transition from perhaps having more of a push shot to a more traditional jumper. Not Steph though, no wonder his shot is so deadly because by looking at this tape it would suggest he’s never changed his form. That’s the ultimate muscle memory when you’ve been shooting the same way since you were 12 and get buckets doing it.

I don’t want to make too much of this, but Steph was even playing defense back then! It’s just very cool to see how his mannerisms as essentially the exact same, and I’m pretty sure if you gave 12 year old Steph a mouthguard he’d do the same gross stuff with it he does now. It really is too bad that 12 year old Steph didn’t grow up in the true internet age though. Do you know how awesome his Ball Is Life video highlights would be? No chance he ends up in Davidson if he was coming up in today’s world. He’d probably have like 500k followers by the time recess was over. Instead all we get is grainy 2000s video, and even still you can tell his dominance. What a player.
