I’ll admit, I was sweating this big time. I mean we had no idea what to expect when it came to Yabu and his team option. We knew the Celtics were going to be over the tax, we knew he was going to be expensive, basically $6M just to keep and not play, so I totally would have understood if Ainge declined this option. But here’s the thing, and I put this in by Yabu blog the other day. I truly think he learned from that 2012 trade in that when you have a contending team you cannot under any circumstances mess with that chemistry. As we know, Yabu is this team’s chemistry. Everyone loves him, he is the gentle giant and ultimate hype man that this team needs. A truly awful day for the haters and losers of which there are many that keep tweeting at me that Yabu sucks. He doesn’t suck you suck and Danny Ainge confirmed it today.

Look, you have to just look at Yabu for what he is. A high energy big who has GREAT lateral quickness to stay with almost every position, a guy who rebounds like a beast and can step out and hit a three. When he’s in the game all I need from him is good defense, some rebounds, and maybe a three here and there. That’s it. He’s shown us flashes, but has never really gotten a legit minutes opportunity because of how stacked this team is, so honestly we don’t really know what he is. You take the good with the bad, and there are times he fucks up and makes mental mistakes, but Danny and Brad clearly see something in him. Now it should be stated he could still be included in a trade, but I’m not focusing on that right now. I’m just relieved that my biggest fear never happened, and that at least at this point, we are guaranteed at least 1 more year of Yabu.

I’m sure there will be some that are annoyed by this move. That maybe this was a waste of money that could have been used elsewhere. Tough shit for those people. I’d say join the bandwagon but I’ve had a change of heart. I’ve been keeping my list of everyone who trolls me on Twitter about Yabu and you do not get to enjoy his rise to prominence once it happens. You had your chance and you instead chose incorrectly. Sucks to suck.

Man, I am way too hyped about the 14th man on this roster but god dammit I do not care. I wasn’t ready to give up Yabu and now I’m glad I don’t have to. This news combined with the fact that the Celtics look 100x better, man everything coming up Greenie like you read about. Now there’s only one thing left to do
