'I'm Ready To Play' - Rory McIlroy Spoke For The First Time Since His Divorce Was Announced, Seems Confident To Win The PGA Championship Again

We know what happened, on Monday documents were filed for Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll to get divorced. Everyone immediately started pointing to signs of this, looking back to when he won the Wells Fargo on Mother's Day.

It's now major week though. Rory is always the talk of major week since he hasn't won one since 2014. Where did that happen? Oh, a little place called Valhalla which just so happens to be the host of this week's PGA Championship. So not only do you have Rory coming in hot from winning, a place he's won at before, you now have single Rory McIlroy out there. I know everyone likes to point at Scottie Scheffler recently becoming a dad and getting that new dad strength, that's still too new.

Tell me, does this look like a guy locked in?

I want nothing more than to see Rory in contention on the back 9 on Sunday. Golf is better when he's up on the leaderboard with other big names. It's a major. Give us Rory, Brooks, Scottie, Xander, Rahm, etc in contention. We deserve it and frankly seeing a somewhat pissed off Rory contending in a major would be awesome.

Need more examples? Rory called off his engagement with Caroline Wozniacki in May of 2014, won a Valhalla in August. Single Rory is a weapon.
