Conor McGregor Says He's Fighting Michael Chandler In December, Calls Out KSI
Well, well, well - I guess it'll be Michael Chandler getting the Red Panty Night after all.
Just in case you've been living under a rock this year - months ago, Conor McGregor agreed to coach a season of The Ultimate Fighter against Michael Chandler, which would conclude with a fight between the two whenever McGregor got back in the USADA testing pool.
What started out as a friendly rivalry got testy pretty quick, when Conor's team started losing all of their fights to Chandler's team....

....and after filming wrapped, Conor decided he didn't actually want to fight Chandler anymore. He watched Dustin Poirier get knocked out by Justin Gaethje for the BMF Championship a few weeks ago, and decided he'd rather go after that title....

Tonight, though, at the Anthony Joshua fight, Conor McGregor said that the opponent for his UFC return is back to Chandler in December, and a fight with Justin Gaethje would follow that up. Then, McGregor said he plans on completing the trilogy against Nate Diaz - and he even called out KSI for shits and giggles, stating he couldn't box eggs if he worked in an egg-boxing factory….
As far as fighting KSI goes - I don't think that'd ever happen, and I don't even think McGregor is interested in that. I just think he's trying to get under Jake Paul's skin with that call out.
Jake has labeled a fight with McGregor as his "ultimate goal" in life, and for McGregor to ignore his shit talk and prodding for years only to go after arguably Jake's biggest rival is hilarious. Petty doesn't even begin to describe it.
McGregor's three-fight plan in the UFC, however? That sounds awesome. I'd love to see McGregor/Chandler followed by McGregor/Gaethje followed by McGregor/Diaz III in the next year. Unfortunately, though, he's gotten to a place where we just can't trust what he says - especially if he's been drinkin tonight; I feel like I'll believe it when I see it with all three of those fights.
Even the Chandler fight that he claims is happening in December seems like a longshot, considering he STILL isn't being tested by USADA. Typically, you need at least six months and two clean tests to return.
Exceptions can always be made, and for McGregor, I'm sure they'll try to exploit every loophole in the game - but again, I'll believe it when I see it.
