Word To The Wise: Don't Leave Shayne Gostisbehere Open In Overtime
Listen. There’s almost nothing at all to be excited about as a Philadelphia sports fans. Our teams are all a hot steaming pile of garbage, Chip Kelly is an asshole, the Sixers might not win a game until the next Olympics, it’s all just a miserable state of affairs. But in this city’s darkest hours, a hero’s light is shining through as a little beacon of hope. And that hero, of course, is one Mr. Shayne Ghost Bear. And in 7 games so far this season with the Flyers, Ghost has been proving time and time again that he was well worth the wait. Especially with his last two goals being nearly identical overtime game winners.
How much do you think Claude loves having Ghost up there at the point to work with? He finally has a legitimate weapon up there instead of having to give up the puck to old man Streit. Get used to hearing Ghost from Giroux because I’ll conservatively say they’ll hook up for another hundred of these by the time it’s all said and done. So I’m just putting this out there as a fair warning to the rest of the NHL. If you end up going to overtime with the Philadelphia Flyers, do not under any circumstances take a penalty in the overtime period. And if you just so happen to take a penalty in the overtime, don’t let Shayne Gostisbehere post up in the slot wide open. Because he will end your life if you do. and I’m just trying to look out for you guys.
