We've Got Ourselves Another Hall Of Fame Goal Call By The Hockey Night Punjabi Broadcast

Between our boy Tony X becoming a Blues fan and the Hockey Night Punjabi team completely taking over, I’d say these have been the most all-inclusive Stanley Cup Playoffs of all time. No more is hockey just for a bunch of whites from the Northeast and Canada. And now I’m starting to worry that maybe Doc and Eddie need to start worrying about the safety of their jobs because if this broadcast crew has taught us anything, it’s that hockey and Punjabi go together like lamb and tuna fish. I may have only understood about 3 words in that entire goal cal but that’s what’s so great about it. It’s just a party with a microphone in that booth and I can respect the hell out of it.

And while we’re on the subject of Lightning vs Penguins game 5, let’s take a look at how overtime went at the CONSOL Energy Center.

Just one butt goal bringing 2 memes to life.

So now the Tampa Bay Lightning are just 1 win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final for the 2nd consecutive year. Except this time they’re doing it without the help of Steven Stamkos. They’ve had to go all but like 10 minutes of this series so far without the help of Ben Bishop in net. This entire postseason so far for the Lightning has been one giant testament to Steve Yzerman and his ability to throw together a team. Just think about what has happened for the Lightning to get here. You have the entire Jonathan Drouin redemption tour. You have Nikita Kucherov leading the playoffs in goals with 11, 7 of which have either tied the game or given the Bolts the lead. Killorn, Tyler Johnson and Victor Hedman are all playing their best hockey right now and who knows, maybe if the Lightning advance to the Final again they won’t even need to put Stamkos on the ice even if he somehow manages to get healthy in time. All I know is that the Pittsburgh Penguins are just one game away from elimination and that’s a beautiful, glorious thing.

P.S. – When you remember about Hodor.
