You think this little twerp gives a heck about what his adjusted relative Corsi is? Frick no. Kid just wants to ball out. He’s not gonna cross the blueline and get a weak shot on net just because he thinks it’ll help boost his metrics and get him a bigger pay day come the next time he needs to sign a contract extension. If he’s scoring a goal, he wants to make sure it’s completely demoralizing to the goalie and the rest of the opposing team. Some kids are just born with that natural instinct to be a baller. You start teaching kids that possession numbers are all that matter and you end up with a bunch of robots out on the ice who can’t even think about pulling a move like this.
