The Phillies Sign Another Old Man In Grady Sizemore

PHILLY.com - The Phillies have signed outfielder Grady Sizemore to a minor league contract, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. He will report to triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday. Sizemore, 31, hit .216 (10 2B, 2HR, 15 RBI, 5 SB) in 52 games with the Red Sox this season before being released in June 18. Sizemore, a three-time AL All-Star and two-time AL Gold Glove winner, hit .300 (9-30) in his eight games against National League opponents, including .333 (5-15) in four games against the NL East.

And I for once don’t hate it? The move is as low risk/high reward as they come. Actually wish they brought him in at the beginning of the year. Sizemore was once the real deal before discovering he’s made of glass and tore it up in Spring Training. Of course he’s done dick since then which resulted in his release, but hey, a man can dream. A man can dream.

Love it how people were tripping over eachother hopping back onto the Phils bandwagon during that little run and are shattering their shit jumping off during this 3 game losing streak again. This team is toast. Can’t wait till Ruben trades Ken Giles for a key piece to make a fake run this year.
