The City Of Philadelphia Is About To Get A "Boyz II Men Boulevard"
Philly.com – It’s not the end of the road for legendary R&B group Boyz II Men. In fact, it’s the beginning of a new one.
On Thursday morning, City Councilman Kenyatta Johnson introduced a resolution that proposed honoring the group’s achievements in artistry and philanthropy by naming Broad Street from Christian to Carpenter, “Boyz II Men Boulevard.”
Yo let me tell you something right now. Philadelphia City Councilwoman Kenyatta Johnson is officially my favorite politician in the United States of America now. You want to talk about somebody who is able to get shit done despite all the nonsense involved in politics? You want somebody who is going to make a difference in the world? Somebody who was voted in to office and doesn’t just sit on their ass to collect a check while the rest of the country suffers? Kenyatta Johnson is the answer. Most people look at the big issues surrounding in Philadelphia and they think of the soda tax, legal marijuana distribution, public transportation, and when the teachers in the city will ever get paid. A pretty big agenda, sure. But Kenyatta Johnson has her priorities straight and said that enough is enough. The year is 2017 and how this city still does’nt have a Boyz II Men Boulevard yet is appalling.
As for the actual strip of Broad Street that will become Boyz II Men Boulevard, well it’s not much.
But already it becomes the hottest block in the city. And this is a baby step. First you start out with just a strip of Broad to become Boyz II Men Boulevard. Eventually you just keep extending it piece by piece until all of Broad is Boyz II Men. Then you make sure that you have speakers on the sidewalk that play their greatest hits 24/7. Could you imagine how much people would pay to live near Boyz II Men Boulevard? Can you imagine the property value? That shit will sky rocket. People will come from all over the world to take a stroll down Boyz II Men. That’s a shit ton of tourism money coming into the city. Now we start to solve the rest of the issues here. It’s a win-win for everybody. But the biggest win of all is for you, the people.
