Of Course Cole Hamels Is Publicly Admitting He Wants Out Of Town

cole
TAMPA - The words flow out of Cole Hamels’ mouth without hesitation, equivocation, or the slightest tinge of remorse. He wants to be traded from the Philadelphia Phillies. This is not a threat. He is not demanding a trade. He’s not about to insult the Phillies, or say anything derogatory that would alienate himself from the only team that’s employed him. “I just want to win,” Hamels told USA TODAY Sports in his first interview since the end of the 2014 season. “That’s all. That’s all any competitor wants. “And I know it’s not going to happen here. “This isn’t what I expected. It’s not what the Phillies expected, either. “But it’s reality.”

No shit. Can I come, too? You can’t blame the man at all. Let’s evaluate his options. One of the best pitchers in the game can either A) Go to a winning team and enjoy more postseason runs that ultimately will end up in a nice, juicy contract for his golden years, or 2) Waste away the prime of his career in a negative minded clubhouse of a dumpster fire that’s reached 4 trillion degrees Celsius. Yeah, it’s a no-brainer.

Chances are Ruben either doesn’t trade him at all because he’s the worst GM in the league or he gets desperate and ships him in return for some magic beans…because he’s the worst GM in the league.

I hate this team.
