Minnesota United FC Goalkeeper Checking In With An Own Goal For The Ages

So we’ve got a little good news and a little bad on our hands with this one. All in all I think this works out to be a wash so stay with me here. We’ll start with the bad and save the best for last since nobody wants to end on a bad note. The bad news is that Minnesota United FC goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock probably won’t be getting that call up to the MLS anytime soon after this debacle. I’m all for guys trying to hold onto the dream as long as they can and spending years of their lives playing in leagues that nobody has ever heard of just to try to get there. But with just one 5-second blunder, the dream may officially be over for Sammy Ndjock. So bad news #2? Looks like, unless he retires, he’ll be stuck living in Minnesota for the foreseeable future. And don’t get me wrong. I love Minnesota. Think it’s a beautiful state. Just wouldn’t be my first choice as a black soccer goalie from Cameroon. That’s all I have on the bad news, let’s flip the script real quick and mention some positives.

First off, it would appear that Sammy Ndjock is an avid Pardon My Take listener as he was obviously gunning for the Top Jimbo of the Week. No other reasonable explanation for how this happened unless our guy is involved in some match fixing. But if you’re fixing matches in the North American Soccer League, maybe it’s less of a jimbo on Slammin’ Sammy and more of a jimbo on yourself.

Second off, it looks like the scouts and coaches for the Philadelphia Eagles can take the rest of the summer off because we just found our starting quarterback for week 1. It’s obvious that he’s been studying the playbook because I’ve seen this exact same play ran countless times before during my lifetime. And lastly, Minnesota United FC lost this game to FC Bournemouth (shoutout to all my Bournemouth fans out there) 3-0 last night. So it’s not like it was a 1-0 game and Ndjock should feel shame for the rest of the week and/or life.
